Health Programs and Educational Curriculums
Tailored Education
I am skilled and experienced at designing educational programs tailored to meet people where they are - whether that’s a firehouse, a classroom, a clinic, or a community gathering space. These programs blend evidence-based content with cultural relevance, interactive learning, and practical tools, ensuring participants leave not only informed but empowered to act. Here are a few examples of programs I have developed.
Firefighter Cancer Prevention Program:
Developed and delivered a culturally tailored cancer prevention and early detection curriculum for fire service professionals, addressing elevated occupational risks. Content included evidence-based strategies for risk reduction, screening guidance, and navigation of cancer resources. Informed by qualitative focus groups to ensure relevance and impact, over 5000+ firefighters educated.
Format: Oral delivery, 1-hour session at regional firehouses
Health Equity Curriculum for Oncology Physicians:
Designed and implemented an immersive disparities curriculum for oncology physicians in fellowship training. Covered topics such as financial toxicity, medical mistrust, and considerations for specialty and rural populations. Included hands-on activities to deepen understanding and application in clinical practice.
Format: Oral delivery, nine 1-hour lessons.
Community-Driven Health Resource Module:
Created an interactive training for health professionals and community leaders to connect underserved populations with critical prevention resources. Participants learned a step-by-step framework for embedding community engagement into program design, building trust, and co-creating sustainable strategies. Included case studies, hands-on worksheets, and peer exchange.
Format: Oral delivery, 75-minute interactive lab.
Youth Cancer Prevention Program
Updated and enhanced a K–12 curriculum that equips students with cancer prevention knowledge and advocacy skills. Topics included sun safety, tobacco prevention, healthy eating, physical activity, and the importance of screening. Designed to build lifelong health habits and leadership in youth.
Format: Oral delivery, six 1-hour lessons.
